What we do, what we expect from you, and what to do when someone crosses a line.
What we do
Real-time video screening
Frames are checked on your own device as the call runs. Explicit content trips the check and the session is ended without the video ever being uploaded for scanning.
One-tap reporting
The report control sits in the chat toolbar, not buried in a menu. Using it ends the conversation straight away and sends the case to a human reviewer.
Instant skip
Next is always on screen. Tap it, then tap again to confirm, and you are matched with someone new. There is no cooldown between skips.
No message history
Messages are not retained once a chat ends and video is peer-to-peer. Limited evidence is held only where a report needs reviewing.
Community guidelines
These are the rules. Breaking them ends your session and, for anything serious or repeated, blocks you from matching.
Be 18 or older
MatchWithRandom is for adults. If you are under 18, this service is not for you. We remove under-age users when we find them and act on reports.
Keep it clothed
Nudity and sexual activity on camera are not allowed. Automated checks look for explicit video in real time and will cut the session.
No harassment or hate
Threats, slurs, and abuse aimed at anyone — including on the basis of race, religion, gender, sexuality or disability — end in a block.
Do not record people
Capturing or re-sharing someone else without their knowledge is a serious violation and, in many places, illegal.
Guard your own details
You are talking to a stranger. Keep your full name, address, workplace, school and financial details to yourself, however friendly the conversation feels.
Skip early, report when needed
You never owe anyone your time. Press next the moment a conversation turns uncomfortable, and report anything that breaks these rules.
Reporting someone
The report control sits in the chat toolbar. Using it does three things at once: the conversation ends, you are moved on, and the case goes to a human reviewer. You do not have to keep talking to someone in order to report them.
If someone is in danger
We are not an emergency service and cannot intervene in real time. If you believe someone is at immediate risk of harm, contact your local emergency number. If you see content involving a minor, report it to us and to your national child-protection hotline.
Protecting yourself
- Never share your full name, address, workplace or school.
- Never send money, gift cards or crypto — no exceptions, however convincing the story.
- Assume anything on camera could be captured, even though recording is against the rules.
- Be wary of anyone pushing to move the conversation to another app quickly.
- Leave the moment you feel uncomfortable. You owe a stranger nothing.
