Is MatchWithRandom free?
Yes. Video and text chat are both free with no time limit, no credits and no paid tier required to talk to people.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There is no signup, no email verification and no password. The first time, you give a display name, your gender and your age and confirm you are 18+ — that stays on your device. Then press start and you are matched.
Do I have to turn my camera on?
No. Text-only chat is a first-class mode, not a fallback. You can also start in text and switch to video later if you want to, or never switch at all.
Who am I matched with?
Another person who is in the queue at the same moment as you. Matching is random and one-to-one — you are never dropped into a group room.
Are conversations recorded or saved?
Chat messages are not stored after a conversation ends, and video is streamed peer-to-peer rather than recorded. Reported sessions may retain limited evidence so a human reviewer can act on the report.
What happens when I report someone?
The conversation ends immediately, you are moved on, and the report is queued for human review. Repeated or severe violations lead to the offending user being blocked from matching.
How old do I have to be?
You must be 18 or older to use MatchWithRandom. The service is not intended for minors and accounts found to belong to under-18 users are removed.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. It runs in the mobile browser on both Android and iOS with no app to install, and supports the front and rear cameras on devices that have them.
Why does it say my camera is blocked?
Your browser is denying camera access for this site. Open the padlock or camera icon in the address bar, allow access, then reload the page. On iOS you may also need to check Settings, then Safari, then Camera.
