About

Why this exists

The internet got very good at connecting you to people you already know. It got much worse at introducing you to anyone new.

The idea

Most social products optimise for the people already in your contacts — the same faces, ranked and re-ranked. MatchWithRandom does the opposite. It introduces you to one person you have never met, with no profile to judge them by and no follower count to weigh. What happens next is entirely up to the two of you.

What we believe

Friction is the enemy

Every field on a signup form is a person who never made it to a conversation. There is no account here because an account would not make the product better — only easier to monetise.

Leaving should be as easy as arriving

Skip is always on screen: tap next, tap again to confirm, with no cooldown. A product that makes it hard to leave a conversation is a product that will eventually trap someone in a bad one.

Anonymity is not an excuse

Being anonymous to each other does not mean the rules stop applying. Automated screening runs during video calls, reporting is one tap, and the community guidelines are enforced.

Say what we keep

Messages are not retained once a chat ends, and video is streamed between participants rather than recorded. Where a report needs reviewing, limited evidence is held so a human can act on it. That is the whole arrangement, written plainly.

Who it is for

Adults, 18 and over, who want an unscripted conversation — people practising a language, working a night shift, new to a city, or simply curious who is awake on the other side of the world. It is not for minors, and it is not a dating service.

Meet one stranger

It takes about ten seconds to find out whether this is for you.

By starting a chat you confirm you are 18 or older and accept the terms.
