The short version
There is no account, so there is no profile to hold. Chat messages are not retained after a conversation ends, and video is streamed between participants rather than recorded. Limited data is processed to run the matching queue and to act on abuse reports.
What we process
- Connection data. IP address and approximate region, used to route the connection, and to enforce blocks and rate limits.
- Device and browser data. User agent and capability information, used to serve a working experience and detect automated abuse.
- A temporary session identifier. Held for the duration of your visit to keep you in the matching queue. Discarded when you leave.
- Report evidence. Where you or another user files a report, limited material relating to that session so a human can review it.
What we do not do
- We do not require or store an email address, phone number or password.
- We do not retain chat message history after a conversation ends.
- We do not record video calls.
- We do not sell personal data.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits to these information pages and to see which searches and links bring people here. It does not run on the chat surfaces themselves.
We do not load Google’s tracking library, and we set no cookies and store nothing on your device, so we cannot recognise you between visits or follow you to other sites. Each page sends one request recording the address and title of the page, the link you arrived from, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and your browser and device type. Because nothing identifies you, the visitor counts in our reports are closer to a count of pages opened than a count of people.
Video screening
Automated checks for explicit content run on your own device. Frames are analysed locally and are not uploaded to us for scanning.
Retention
Session data is discarded when the session ends. Material attached to an abuse report is retained only as long as needed to review and act on it, or to meet a legal obligation.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction and portability, and a right to complain to your data protection authority. Because the service is anonymous, we may be unable to link a request to your data without further information.
Children
The service is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly process data from children. If you believe a child is using the service, report it so we can act.
